About Rice Innovation

Mission & Vision

The Office of Innovation was established to support Innovation across the campus, to support and encourage creativity, entrepreneurship and commercialization in all departments. The Office of Innovation unifies and supports the creation of the infrastructure and resources to bring the cutting-edge research at Rice to market, solving today's biggest problems. The Vice President for Innovation and the Innovation Leadership team achieve this by leading initiatives supporting the creation of space, programming, mentorship and funding for innovation pursuits across campus, and unifying and empowering existing resources, and the Governance structure provides direction and oversight to all Innovation functions at Rice.

The Office is aligned with the Mission of Rice to support work for the betterment of the world by encouraging innovation in Letters, Science, and Art. The team is composed of interdisciplinary engineers, investors, entrepreneurs, scientists and designers who work closely with alumni, students, faculty and staff.
